The Artist as Avatar
In the series of works The
Artist as Avatar, a surveillance camera mounted in the
interior of a model videotapes everything happening in and in
front of the installation. Visitors looking at the monitor see
themselves together with the artist, who is integrated
using a computer into the video image as an avatar. The
series of works The Artist as Avatar is composed of
modular installations and is part of the project Biophily. The
individual works are intended to be non-linear sequences of a
fictive film, that was originally supposed to have been
realized in Bollywood (Mumbai's film industry).
